Peer Review Process and Quality Assurance
The International Journal of Humanities, Social Sciences and Literary Research (IJHSLR) follows a rigorous peer review policy to ensure the highest standards of scholarly publishing. The peer review process is designed to maintain objectivity, confidentiality, and academic quality, ensuring that all published papers represent significant contributions to the field of life science research and innovation.
Comprehensive Peer Review Policy
Overview of the Review Process
1. All manuscripts submitted to IJHSLR undergo an initial editorial screening to assess scope, originality, ethical compliance, and adherence to the journal’s formatting guidelines.
2. Manuscripts that meet the preliminary criteria are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers for evaluation under the double-blind system, where both author and reviewer identities are kept anonymous to maintain impartiality.
3. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on scientific merit, novelty, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and ethical soundness.
4. Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief may decide to:
A. Accept the manuscript with or without minor revisions,
B. Request major revisions and resubmission, or
C. Reject the manuscript.
5. The final decision on publication rests with the Editor-in-Chief, taking into account the reviewers’ comments and overall editorial judgment.
Duration of Review
The average review duration is 4–6 weeks from the date of assignment to reviewers. The editorial office strives to ensure a timely and transparent review process while maintaining thorough academic evaluation. Authors are notified promptly about the review outcome and may be asked to submit revised versions within a specified timeframe.
Reviewer Responsibilities
1. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive, detailed, and objective feedback aimed at improving the quality of the manuscript.
2. They must evaluate manuscripts solely on scientific quality, without bias regarding the author’s identity, institution, nationality, or gender.
3. Reviewers are required to declare any conflict of interest—financial, personal, or professional—before accepting a review assignment.
4. All manuscripts and related materials must be treated as strictly confidential, and reviewers must not use or disclose any information obtained during the review process for personal advantage.
Ethical Considerations
The peer review process follows the ethical guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any suspected misconduct, plagiarism, data manipulation, or breach of confidentiality identified during the review will be reported to the Editor-in-Chief for appropriate action.
Post-Review Communication
Authors receive detailed reviewer comments and are encouraged to submit a point-by-point response addressing all suggestions and queries. Revised manuscripts are re-evaluated by the same reviewers (when possible) to ensure the integrity of the final publication decision.
The International Journal of Humanities, Social Sciences and Literary Research(IJHSLR) remain committed to maintaining a transparent, fair, and efficient peer review process, fostering trust among authors, reviewers, and readers while promoting scientific excellence.
